Escalator Programmable Logic Controllers, Drives, inverters and interfaces
The contract covers a two-lot framework for Transport for London (TfL) and London Underground Limited (LUL) to manufacture and supply escalator programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor drives, inverters and human-machine interfaces. Lot 1 includes new PLCs built to TfL specifications, associated field wiring, motor drives and HMI equipment, with a priced installation option and an initial call-off for the supply and installation of PLCs at Piccadilly Circus; Lot 2 covers drives and inverters for operational maintenance. The framework is expected to commence in late winter or early spring 2027 for five years, with options to extend by up to three further years in two- and one-year periods. The estimated value is £18,061,649, and delivery is in the United Kingdom, primarily supporting London’s Underground escalator network. The critical qualification requirement is the ability to manufacture and supply new escalator PLCs to TfL’s required specification, with installation capability required where included in the Lot 1 call-off.
