Flexible Framework for the Provision of Care Homes
Bath & North East Somerset Council, a local authority providing public services, is establishing a flexible framework to procure individual and block placements from registered adult care homes. The framework covers residential and nursing care, dementia care, discharge-to-assess and intermediate care, plus learning disability, autism, physical and cognitive impairment including acquired brain injury, and sensory impairment services. Providers will be expected to deliver care home services in the specified specialisms and evidence the conditions of participation set out in the Invitation to Tender; the framework will remain open to new entrants through periodic acceptance rounds. The estimated total value is £600 million, although no fixed contract duration is stated, and opportunities will be commissioned throughout the framework’s life. Residential, nursing, dementia, and discharge-to-assess services must be delivered within three miles of the Bath and North East Somerset boundary, while the other specialisms may be delivered within nine miles. The critical eligibility requirement is that the care home is registered and located within the relevant boundary radius.
