National Infection and Sepsis Audit – Acute NHS settings
The contract covers the creation and delivery of the National Infection and Sepsis Audit for acute NHS hospital settings, providing benchmarked data on severe infection and sepsis care to identify variation and support improvement. The buyer is the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership, a healthcare quality and improvement organisation, and the audit will initially cover NHS-funded acute care in England and Wales. The supplier will be expected to design and operate the audit, collect and analyse data on early infection and sepsis care, produce comparative reporting and insight, and support dissemination and improvement activity in line with relevant NHS England and NHS Wales initiatives. The core contract is for three years, with a maximum budget of £1,146,300 excluding VAT (£1,375,560 including VAT); a potential two-year extension and additional aspirational scope could increase the ceiling to £8,988,606 including VAT. The most critical qualification requirement is demonstrated capability to deliver a national clinical audit and securely manage, analyse and report healthcare data across acute NHS settings.
