Rotherham Local Area Energy Plan
The contract covers the development of a Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP) for Rotherham, commissioned by Rotherham Borough Council, a local government organisation. The supplier will engage primary and secondary external stakeholders, collect and analyse energy data, and model scenarios and pathways for achieving net-zero local-area carbon dioxide emissions from the energy system. The scope also includes identifying, prioritising and refining projects and enabling actions supporting local and regional climate-change mitigation goals, together with a monitoring and evaluation framework using indicators of progress against decarbonisation pathways and delivery. A final report and executive summary must set out the required scale and range of activity, estimated investment, potential economic, social and environmental benefits, and differences between areas within Rotherham. The contract is expected to run for nine months from December 2026 to September 2027; no value or delivery locations beyond Rotherham are specified. The critical qualification requirement is not stated in the available tender information.
