Street Light Repair Project
The contract covers repair, refurbishment and replacement works across Billing Parish Council’s 91-asset street lighting network, including standard steel and Victorian heritage columns, post-top lanterns and bracket-mounted lanterns. Billing Parish Council is a local government body responsible for parish services and infrastructure, and requires the contractor to carry out identified electrical and structural remedial works, including column and LED lantern replacement, photocells, rewiring, cable and bracket repairs, access doors, straightening, concrete collars, safety labels and asset renumbering. Victorian heritage columns must be replaced like-for-like in appearance while incorporating LED technology, and existing heritage columns not being replaced must be cleaned, prepared and repainted; the contractor must also inspect asset 50 and recommend and price any remedial works. No estimated contract value is provided, and works are anticipated to start in April 2027 during the 2027/28 financial year, subject to budget approval. Delivery is within postcode area NN3 9EF. The critical qualification is the ability to undertake electrical and structural street-lighting works, including compliant testing and commissioning of replacement assets.
