SU172(26) Energy Centre and Union House District Heat Network Connection Works
Swansea University is seeking a suitably qualified contractor for Energy Centre upgrade works and a new District Heat Network connection to Union House at its Singleton Campus, as part of the university’s decarbonisation programme. The works cover a major upgrade to campus heat-generation and distribution infrastructure, including installation of approximately 3MW of modular air source heat pump capacity and associated DHN connection works. The contractor will participate in a two-stage procurement, with Stage 1 providing early input into design development, buildability, programme optimisation and cost certainty before a Stage 2 construction contract. The project has been developed to RIBA Stage 3 with a fully coordinated design prepared for tendering and delivery. Delivery is at Swansea University’s Singleton Campus; no contract value, duration or wider delivery regions are specified. The critical qualification requirement is that bidders must be suitably qualified to undertake the specialist energy-centre, heat-pump and district-heat-network works.
