TR5844 - Poolbeg CCGT Auxiliary Boiler Major Replacement
The contract covers the major replacement of the dual-fuel auxiliary steam boiler at ESB’s Poolbeg Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility. Electricity Supply Board (ESB), an electricity generation and supply organisation, requires replacement of the aged, deteriorated and obsolete boiler, associated controls and external gas skid during 2027. Supplier responsibilities include designing and installing the replacement equipment, removing the existing plant, undertaking necessary building-structure works, and assessing or modifying the existing foundations where required. The design and installation must interface with electrical, gas, diesel, control and instrumentation, fire, civil, structural, ventilation, steam, feedwater and other relevant systems. The work will be delivered at the Poolbeg facility in Ireland, with the contract timeframe centred on the 2027 replacement programme; no estimated contract value is stated. The critical qualification requirement is the demonstrated capability to deliver an integrated industrial boiler replacement involving mechanical, electrical, gas, controls, structural and associated plant systems.
