VRU - Mayor’s Youth Clubs Safety Programme
The contract covers a pan-London tertiary violence-reduction safety service for young people affected by, or at risk of, violence and exploitation in Mayoral-funded youth clubs. The buyer is the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), which hosts the London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) and operates in policing, public safety and violence prevention. The provider must supply specialist youth workers embedded across 33 Mayoral Youth Clubs, covering the 32 London boroughs and the City of London, to identify risk, build trusted relationships, provide targeted support, strengthen young people’s feelings of safety, and connect them with wider specialist services. The indicative contract value is up to £2.9 million excluding VAT, running from 1 March 2027 to 31 March 2029, with an option to extend to 31 March 2030. Delivery will take place across London, within Mayoral youth club settings. The critical qualification is the ability to deliver a specialist, pan-London tertiary intervention through dedicated youth workers and effective pathways into specialist support for young people experiencing established, escalating or entrenched violence and exploitation.
