WP4051 ICS Pathway 1 Services and a Community Reablement Service
The contract covers ICS Pathway 1 Services and a Community Reablement Service, providing short-term, therapy-led reablement and interim social support for adults in Walsall who are recovering after illness, injury, deterioration in health, or hospital discharge. The buyer is Walsall Council, a local authority operating in adult social care, and the service is delivered in partnership with the Council’s therapy team and, for ICS referrals, appropriate ICS staff. The supplier must deliver strengths-based, person-centred support that helps service users regain independence, complete daily activities, and move between reablement and social pathways as needs change, with technology used to support tailored outcomes. The estimated contract value is £65,000,000 and the arrangement is described as a cost-and-volume contract, so the total value may change with demand. Delivery is in the Borough of Walsall and across UKG38, with referrals also involving acute hospitals inside and outside the borough where the service user is ordinarily resident in Walsall. The key eligibility requirement stated is that referrals for Pathway 1 come only from appropriate ICS staff, so bidders must be able to work within that ICS referral route and integrated multidisciplinary model.
